प्राताकाल सतिसंग ना जावै तनख़ाहदार बहु वड्डा कहावे। (३)

praataakaal satisa(n)g naa jaavai tanakhhaahadhaar bahu va'ddaa kahaave| (3)

One who does not participate in the true congregation early in the morning, Will be adjudged as deserving a (religious) retribution.(3)

सतिसंग जाइ कर चित्त डुलावै ॥ ईहाँ उहाँ ठोर ना पावै। (४)

The one who participates in the true-congregation half-heartedly Will find shelter nowhere.(4)

हरि जस सुणते बात चलावै कहे गोबिंद सिंघ वोह जम पुर जावे (५)

har jas sunate baat chalaavai kahe gobi(n)dh si(n)gh voh jam pur jaave (5)

While listening to the celestial glories, (one who) starts idle-talks, Says Gobind Singh, goes to the hell.(5)

ਨਿਰਧਨ ਦੇਖਨਾ ਪਾਸ ਬਹਾਵੈ ਸੋ ਤਨਖਾਹੀ ਮੂਲ ਕਹਾਵੈ। (੬)

निरधन देखना पास बहावै सो तनखाही मूल कहावै। (६)

niradhan dhekhanaa paas bahaavai so tanakhaahee mool kahaavai| (6)

Coming across a poor-man, if he does not entertain him, He obtains the fundamental punishment.(6)

शबद गिआन बिन करे जो बात ता कै कछू ना आवै हाथ। (७)

shabadh giaan bin kare jo baat taa kai kachhoo naa aavai haath| (7)

One who tattles without the knowledge of the celestial word, Benefits by nothing at all.(7)

शबद भोग ना निवावे सीश ताँ को मिले ना परम जगदीश(८)

shabadh bhog naa nivaave seesh taa(n) ko mile naa param jagadheesh(8)

If he does not pay his obeisance, He will attain not access to the Supreme Being.(8)

And using the scrubber, wash all the utensils.(11)

And, except Vaheguru, the Almighty, utter nothing else.(12)

One who bows his head to a Turk (enemy) and surrenders his sword at his feet,

Gobind Singh says, he will be punished by the Yama of death.(17)

One who casts an evil eye at their row,(18)

Says Gobind Singh, he is pushed towards the devil.(20)

One should comb the hair and put around the turban twice a day,

dhaatan kare nit neet naa dhukh paavai laal jee| (23)

Should clean the teeth and, Lal Jee, this way one will never suffer.(23)

One who does not spare tithe for the Guru and revels in fabrications,

And without reading Jap, takes his food,(25)

Without reciting Keertan (Sohila) goes to sleep,(26)

Cursed is his birth if he forgets the righteousness.(27)

Says Gobind Singh, he is honoured nowhere.(28)

khhuaar hoe sabh milahi(n) ge bache sharan jo hoi| (62)

तिस की जड़्ह सुक्की और जो मोना सिख होइ जावै तिस की जड़्ह हरी।

tis kee jaRh su'kee aauar jo monaa sikh hoi jaavai tis kee jaRh haree|

His posterity will be ruined, and if a shaven one becomes Sikh, his descendants will flourish.
